The entrance to a community centre: doors and windows and lots of glass.

Ah, but is it L glass?

Windows. And lots of them.

A community birdhouse project? I think your country is more civilized than mine. Certainly your city is.

John, that's a view worth having. So peaceful.

A small window on a local house, shot from the sidewalk. Many older houses here have windows like this, all different designs.

I like these doors much better,OhLook. Both shots are really nice. :)

Here's one with mostly windows, but there's a sliding glass door in there as well.

Very nice Stina. Really like the nice low light. Pretty cozy scene.:)

Good work, everybody!!
I particularly like your last shot, OhLook.
And that's a good night shot, Stina.
I couldn't come up with anything last w
eek, but took the camera with me yesterday to shoot some doors I know, because a stone's throw away is a block of houses all with differently coloured front doors. For the last couple of years, every time I passed them I thought: "Oh, I should take a few pictures of them." Because they looked lovely. Guess what. Doors are gone. Replaced by more burglar proof doors! Bummer...

So I took some other pics.

I went creative with this one in Photoshop (painted out the walls and ground):

Thanks, everyone!

The bird houses are new and it looks really pretty, although the birds are yet to find them! :) The tree is in the middle of a square with benches and lots of cheerful flowers.

About what I called the "community centre." It's actually a centre specialised in care for the elderly. There's a retirement home, there are houses where people live independently but help is available when needed, there is a section for people with Alzheimers and then it also does service to the community (you can eat there or have a meal delivered, you can use their fitness equipment for just about nothing, they have an internet café for older people with someone there to help them, etc.). They have been expanding the building (which is already large obviously) and they redesigned a fair bit. The new square was the finishing touch. It's looks real nice. And all this is literally across the street from where I live, so when my time comes, all I need to do is cross the street... :)

We had a good time. We had a table out on the lawn, brought the picnic basket, and enjoyed the music and fireworks afterward.

It's a West Coast version of Tanglewood and is about 15 minutes over the ridge from my house.

Here's the inside of the hall at night with the doors open and all the lights on.

Stina.. well done handling the light in that shot! Well Done..

Look, some nice doors and windows in you recent posts. I don't associate these with a bad smell ;)

Levina, sorry to miss you last week. I believe there are lots of attractions near roads in Amsterdam! lol
But, I love what you did this week! ..and the Bird Homes are just perfect. Hopefully you will be able to see birds nest and fledge next season!

John! If that is the view from your home.. Just let me say, I'm planning a trip to Hawai'i for 2015.. Most likely early spring ;)

Tim! what a fantastic venue and you got to see Judy Collins with a picnic basket (done by your wife, I'm sure. So I know it was fabulous!) A sort of Hollywood Bowl, indoor/outdoor idea. I do wonder who was on the posters, the heads are missing! :)

Some of the missing heads were folks like Ben Harper, Diana Ross, Lyle Lovett, Amos Lee, Yo Yo Ma, and Elvis Costello.

Went to town early this morning to help my wife set up for the Farmer's Market. Remembered to take a pic for this weeks theme. Here's mine. Pic taken on main street. Police station not open on weekends though.:)

Wow, Tim, that looks like a really wonderful place. And how nifty with the sliding doors making an indoor go outdoor! :) Great pics too.

Terry, that is a nice shot! And quite hilarious to have the police station close during weekends!
