I've had my G2 for 7 months now and am having some problems with it. The camera takes 6 seconds to actually power up after it's turned on, at which time it very briefly displays "No CF Card", then "CF Card Error". I've tried formatting the 32mb Canon and 256mn SanDisc cards several times in the camera and in my card drive, but the camera just displays "E50" and shuts down. The LCD looks like there's a water stain or some type of film over it and the lens rattles when it's coming out of the body after the camera's turned on. The last two items are not related to the CF problem, but are annoying nonetheless. I guess I'll be sending it in for service (still under warranty), but I need it for an important road trip in a couple o' weeks! I'm very discouraged and have not abused this camera in any way. Makes me want to go back to film... at least that shutter opens right when I ask it to.

Suggestions:

1) Send it to Canon for service
2) Go back to film

Hope this help :-)
