Great subjects — though small, they are not shy, so close is easy to achieve. This has nice composition. Did you shoot through a window? It seems to my eye like there's a light haziness over the subject that I've noticed before when shooting through windows. Steve Foss

Composition is first rate...but the photo itself could use a bit more contrast to rid of the "haziness". Daniel Cadieux

GaryFairhead Cream of the Crop More info | Feb 16, 2006 17:18 | #10 These are wonderful liitle visitors in the Winter months. They are considered to be an arctic bird and those that do stay in the coldest parts of the north are known to tunnel into the snow to help insulate them while they sleep (on the coldest of nights). I have had them in my yard where they will not allow me to approach. At a trail not 10 kilometers from my door I was within 3 feet of a dozen or more Redpolls from a flock of 50 Gary Fairhead C/C welcome .....
