A pair of American Robins decided to build a nest in the front of our neighbors old tractor while it was parked in our yard. Luckily he was willing to leave it parked until the chicks fledged, which they did yesterday June 30th.

The 3 chicks...

Thanks Al, and yes the tractor is still used. My neighbor stores it in our shed in the winter, and then pulls a mulching mower behind it.

Thanks Peter. My neighbor was going to put a new battery in the tractor until he found out that my husband had already put the new battery in it!

Thanks Craig. Robins are notorious for building nests in strange locations. Last year they built on some old staging that was leaning against our garage.

Great story and a lovely set of pictures. I am glad the owner let the youngsters leave the nest before moving his tractor. The last shot is really beautiful but I really enjoyed the whole set.

Thank you Carol. He did come to get his tractor because he wanted to bush-hog around his property. He is a retired gentleman who with his french accent, described the Robin flying out when he approached. He said I will come back in a week. It was quite funny to hear him tell the story, and I am also glad he let them stay.

There will be days when you get the shot(s) you missed days, months or years before.

Thanks Bret. I was quite impressed that he was willing to let them stay as long as they needed.
