Inspired by swatcop169's home made table top set-up, I tried some product shots, and got pretty good result. I will have to use smaller aperture to get better DOF. I used 50mm @ f/8 and the whole car was not in focus. I guess I will have to try f/22 or so. No PP, not even level adjust. Just cropped and re-sized. C&C welcome.

Looks like you were using the 85mm on all the shots:eek: . Use the 50 mm and F11 should be able to get the whole car in focus.

You can use bounce cards to avoid the blown reflections. Look in here: Sticky: FAQ - Studio Lighting

You are right, I used the 85mm. The table I was using was kind of big (square folding table), and there are a lot of dead space when I used the 50mm, so I switched to 85. Next time, I'll use a smaller table and 50mm.

Thanks Frank, but which thread I should read about using bounce cards. I didn't see any apparent one by looking at the titles.

How about this, sit down with your Saturday AM coffee & take a walk through the ones I posted. If you don't learn something new in each one, then I'll pay for the coffee? ;)

And for doing that, heres a bonus link! (external link) that I couldn't find yesterday.

And, if I may make a suggestion, lower your camera to the level of the car so that the angle at which the model is being viewed makes it look more realistic
