I was testing out my new reflector in the yard with my gf and captured a few decent shots that I wanted some CC on.

I realize I should have used the gold reflector (I wasnt thinking at the time). Sun is coming from over her right shoulder and reflector was propped up on a tree pointed up at her from her front-left (I think this caused the light to fall on her a little strange, but I was short an assistant :/) I would have like more fill on her face, specifically the top left (our right) part of her face.

Anyways, CC away! Thanks in advance :)

Shot with 5Dc and 85/1.8

I think you already gave yourself good CC. This is uplit (you can see the catchlights from the reflector at 8 o'clock, they should be a 10 or 2) and the shadow across her cheek is pretty harsh.

I think you could have used more DOF here- her OOF hand doesn't add anything to this. I like that you used her arm as a leading line to her face, but I think it would be stronger if the hand was in focus.

There is a blue/cyan color cast on the shadow side of her face and hand/shoulder.

But she is gorgeous, and love the I sharpness and the composition.

Everything Bonnie said, plus you have some blown highlights in her hair. You need to get her out of the sun. Also, don't pose her hand with her fingers straight and with the flat side toward the camera. Her hand looks big and kind of distorted. Have her curl her fingers next time.

You have a gorgeous subject (lucky bastard). :) Her red hair looks great against the green foliage. Get her in the shade and shoot her a lot (with a camera, of course).

The reflector would have been much better to camera right and at a touch higher angle. The harsh shadow going up really kills the image to me. I think you would be fine with the sun on her hair like that if you could have gotten the reflector on the othe side of her.
As for the DOF, I am personally ok with the hand somewhat OOF, but as others have mentioned, always bend things if they have joints. It does not have to be extreme, but just don't let the fingers be completely straight.
The choice of colors for her were great.I like the red in the nails and the complimentary colors of her blouse and the background. Really makes her lovely red hair stand out.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Next time I will keep an eye on the finger joints etc.. I am very bad at directing models right now so I am fortunate to have a patient gf who knows a lot about modeling already.. a work in progress :)

Just keep at it Loxley. You have a strong start and a willing model and that will allow you to get better quickly. Just keep posting, I love to see how people change over a short period of time.

I feel your pain. Setting up a family or couples portrait isn't too bad, but a single subject usually gets my head spinning.

She’s gorgeous; I think the pic would pop more if more of her was in focus. The harsh shadows and hand I don’t think would’ve stood out so much if there was more of her to look at.

A beautiful red head doesn’t need a lot to look beyond amazing..

OOF, if it was in focus what a difference this could have been...

I'm a fan of bokeh and OOF, but here ..., her hand disturb me.
