Great catch Jeff. They are such cool looking ducks. Gotta love that little face peeking over the swell.

Hey Dan, They do spend a lot of time swimming on there own surprisingly. This guy looks like a day or two at the most and he is already an expert swimmer!! CMOats wrote in post #17010292 That is too cute Jeff, love how the green shows up on the parents neck & head, don't often see that.. Ya I agree Cheryl, when your in a Kayak with the wind blowing it's not as easy as you might think to frame your shot with everything bobbing up and down. They are the Pileated Woodpeacker of water bird's Craig, very big by all duck standard's. I have never had the opportunity to shoot them like this before and sure do wish I had stayed this week in the park. Jeff ........, 7D, 70-300L, 100-400LII

Well Cheryl yes and absolutely not, I intended to shot wildlife with them when I bought it so I must go were the wildlife is lol. There are ways to keep it dry and I do try, but it does get the odd splash here and there. If it was a 1Dx and a 500mm I would still through the kayak in the water and go. Afraid yes but we're still goin lol Jeff ........, 7D, 70-300L, 100-400LII
