Tampa Convention Center photo policy

going to YMCA gymnastics tournament at Tampa Convention Center July 4. just wondering about their photography policy. tried to find info on their web site and the YMCA web site.
but no luck. anybody familiar with convention center or YMCA policy for this event?

Best solution is to phone the Convention center. You should also be able to get from them how to contact the YMCA people involved in the event.


Couple of Canon bodies, a couple of Canon lens, few gadgets all stuffed in a bag...and a stick, and a tripod.

A few years ago I attended an event at that convention center and took pictures wherever I wanted.

However, it's not unusual for gymnastics events to have "official photographers." That's the case for this event, which has a photographer clearly indicated on their approved vendor web page. (external link) Don't be surprised if this leads to some limitations.

Thanks DC Fan. I didn't think to look at the approved vendors list. I'll be in the stands. Hopefully no one will pay attention to me.

Contact the organiser and ask if they have the policy. They should have it if they are renting the space. Generally it's "carte blanche" as long as you don't use a flash and stay out of the way. Some leeway may be afforded if you were a parent, but again, check with the organiser. Just my .02c
