I have lost the number of times I have checked the UPS tracking site. I ordered goodies from B&h and there has been NO info since Feb 10th!! All I know is my order has left NY....grrr...

The trucks need to have a video camera inside so I can see my box-o-fun...

Is it sad that I have actually commited my tracking number to memory??

That's pretty bad. ;) LOL

You have the misfortune of ordering the long way there, and you live over 2000 miles from B&H. Think of it this way, the truck is still going. There has been no reports of a UPS delivery truck being lost or gotten into an accident. So, you'll have to just keep checking. I did the exact same thing when I ordered my 20D from that place in CA. Why can't we just get the same good prices closer to home?

hee hee. it is funny that you mention the truck in an accident- that is what I have been wondering thinking to myself "Have I heard anything on the news in the last couple of days?"

If I ever make it over to New York, B&H will be on my list of "places to see". Why are all the good shops on the East Coast?

I'm fortunate to live relatively close to B&H. There's only a couple hours worth of Pennsylvania and then New Jersey between me and the store. It's not really a long drive...I could go there myself if I wanted to, but ultimately paying UPS to ship it is cheaper than burning gas and time. UPS Ground is only 2-3 days so its not bad.

I did it again. I ordered on a Thursday to get it on Monday. I could have ordered last night, but got distracted. Oh, why do I keep doing this?

I track like crazy also and when things go "ground" there will sometimes be a delay between cities of several days. But then again I've had mistakes where it got delivered while the tracking was never updated. FED EX Home Delivery is notorious for those long delays. Normal UPS and FED EX are pretty good.

I am so obsessed too! Funny story...When I ordered my 300D last year I had the day off that it was supposed to be delivered. I woke up and was checking the tracking and saw that it was on the truck for delivery. I went to my door to see if they had dropped it off on the porch. As I opened the door the UPS guy was getting ready to knock. It about scared the crap out of both of us. I told him the story, we had a good laugh...then it was down to business taken pictures!

Well, if you have to know. I got the Hoya Clear filter for the 24-70L, as was suggested in the thread I started. I did it to, of course, protect the lens, which is so beautiful, I can't imagine even touching it by accident. I went naked today at the middle school, just the hood. The pictures were beautiful. The lighting was terrible, and I couldn't shoot RAW because the teachers needed the copies of the disk to edit on their own. I walked around a 700 student school with my new lens. Talk about brave!

Anyway, I also ordered hoods for my 85 1.8 and 50 1.4, which I don't think I really need, but it's good to have them, especially outside. If it wasn't for this forum, I'd be eating out all the time! :)

I'm the same way. In fact, I will put off ordering something for weeks, but the second I order it, I wish I had it in my hands and will check tracking over and over. And over.

Suzy: No package yet :( However, it is now updated and showing that it is in CA (San Pablo) which is not too far away..I am so excited!! I can almost taste it! (and yes my hubbie think s I am crazy)

mlencioni: That is too crazy!! NOt based on you or anything- but I bet the UPS/ Fed Ex people come into contact with some crazy people (If I see him down the road I think I will be running up to his truck!)

Suzy/ cdi-ink.com- I am so glad I am not the only one who ordres late in the week- why do we keep on doing this to ourselves??

When I was waiting for my 20D, which I ordered on December 26 because I didn't have anything for me under the tree, it was from Costco who gets their camera equipment from Adorama (did I spell that right?) in CA. For some reason, I didn't notice the delivery method. I think they put that camera box on a shopping cart and wheeled it to me in VA. It took over a week! I was checking UPS every hour and it kept saying "En route on Truck" or something like that. I was so tempted to ask, "Which truck?" So I could drive to it in the opposite direction. I am a math specialist and in my head, I'm thinking "If the UPS truck with my 20D is going 65 miles an hour on highway 80, and it started it's trip on December 27 at 9:00 a.m. and can go 600 miles in one day, if I leave my house in VA on Dec. 28 at 9:00 a.m.going 200 mph in my hybrid on highway 80, where will I meet the truck and how long will that take?" :) Okay, so being a math teacher can make one completely neurotic. :)
