Test on the Sigma looks promising. Looks like I have a lens to buy and 2 to sell, hehe!:D

Question Jojo: does this Sigma require the 2 shutter button procedure we experienced with our 18-125mm's?

Sorry, was out the last 3.5 hours taking me wifey out on our Valentine's dinner (we never go on the actual day...too expensive and too crowded!). Our first date night out together w/o the kids in 5 months! :D

Anyway, the 1770DC focuses really accurate. There were very few OOF images with this lens. As far as I can tell right now, it doesn't re-focus like the 18-125 did. Time will tell but so far so good. Seems much better than the 18-125.

Oh come on don't tell me these things, I love my 18-125mm. Statements like this are going to force me into getting a new Siggy :p

Thanks for the review.
I'm still drawn into the Canon 17-85 though.

I'll be posting some full frame shots shortly of everyone's favorite "brick wall" to show for barrel distortion and pincushioning.

Top man and a top test ;-)a I don't really fancy either of these that much tho' I definately see the attraction of an all in one walkaround jobbie. As mentioned, let's see the new Tamron 2.8 put through its paces as it's a great length, fast and maybe it'll be quite a bit cheaper than the Sigma 18-50mm 2.8. I would probably go for that one because of speed. Not worth me spending much cash as I like what I have a lot, but convenience for travel is an issue for me at this length.

Thanks Dave. I've added some more test shots. That should just about wrap it up. Thanks folks.

Jojo, that Sigma looks good. I plan on replacing my Tamron and kit lens with this lens. What do you think?
