i dont have a lot of extra money to spend on my hobby but i have saved enough to buy a used Canon 70-200mm F4 Is lens ...which i already have....and i am looking to buying a Canon extender......one of the 1.4 Ext.
is there a difference in the 1 vs II Canon Ext? all i can find is a few coatings and weather proof....should i get the II for a few dollars more?
i shoot a Canon T2i and my lens is a Canon 70-200 mm f4 IS........

I kept my 1.4X ver. II after getting the 1.4X ver. III. IMO there is not that much difference.

I have noticed little if any difference using several zooms.

The above was written as part of an attempt to waste time.

i have both - and the 1.4 111 is significantly superior to my older 1.4 11 on both my 100 -400 and 70- 200 f4 - so guess it varies with individual extenders and i intend to move my 1.4 11 on
cheers rob

I rented the III and had the 1.4 II and couldn't see the difference after testing and comparing results at the pixel level. No difference was my conclusion.

Just to clarify it seems the OP is talking about the old discontinued 1.4 X series I tc, which as he mentioned lacks weather sealing, and the newer version II that does.

He is not asking about the newest Version III TC at all.

I've heard the Kenko DGX Teleplus PRO is on sale now at some stores.

From my tests this TC is actually better than Canon TC 1.4 I or II.
