I'm trying to print 8x10 autograph pictures for a local artist and I am running into some issues with the borders.

I've tried everything from making borders in the image itself with borderless printer to trying it with borders but the margins are still off-center.

See the pictures below.

In Photoshop CS:

Photoshop Print Preview:

As you can tell the margins are off and I can't figure out how to correct this. If I modify the picture centering, it only moves it within the margins, not the margins themselves.

If I do borderless printing with my own borders in the picture it, it still prints the image off center.

Here is the picture printed. This was with my own borders in the picture itself with the printer set to "borderless".

Does anyone have any recommendations on what I can check?

You're not getting a response because you don't say what printer, what software, or any of the other key details that control printing.

Yeah that might be important information.

Canon PIXMA PRO-100 is the printer. As for software I've tried printing from CS6 and directly from Windows. Both net the same result

On my HP Photosmart that's normal.

If I want narrow borders, I must set them slightly wider and later trim them to the exact same width.

I have the same printer & had the same problem. I corrected it by hitting "print" in Lightroom, & after checking the right side ,noticed that the measurements were off on one side (just like yours... I think it's a default setting). After adjusting this, printing from either PS or LR had uniform borders. Another alternative would be to print using the software that came with the printer, Canon Print Studio Pro, it's very good.

AND... make sure you have the right paper size, my Canon 8x10 paper is actually 8 1/2x11...
