A white morph Reddish Egret landed nearby is south Florida only to be chased away by a pair of dark Reddish. I was hoping to get some shots of oit feeding/dancing but no luck this year.

Jul 05, 2014 12:54 | #12 Great shots, Steve. Were they taken at Estero Lagoon? The reason I ask is that I haven't seen the white morph that was there last year recently. Also, have you visited any sites around Sarasota and Venice? We're headed up there for a few days in about two weeks and am wondering how the birding is there. This one was found near Sanibel but a friend was at Estero in mid April and got some nice shots of a white morph there one morning. I had no luck at Estero myself this time around but that was a first. I wish I could offer some suggestions but I haven't worked the Sarasota or Venice area at all. Every white morph I've seen has been between Ft. DeSoto and Ft. Myers so I would think that there should be some around Sarasota and/or Venice. Good luck during your visit. Steve
