Comparing the Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 and the Samyang SYTS24-C 24mm F/3.5 Tilt Shift with 6mm of up Shift applied, showing the correction of perspective distortion using the latter.

Both images shot in RAW at f/11, 1/125, ISO 100, from same position, Canon 5DMk3 on tripod.

Images processed in DPP, resized with PS CC, sharpened with NIK Sharpener Pro.

NOTE: To my eye the Samyang image looked about 1/2 stop underexposed as compared to the one taken with the Canon lens, so I adjusted the Samyang up half a stop in DPP. All other adjustments (sharpening etc., in both DPP and PS identical).

This is the Samyang lens I bought new for ~$680 CDN (including shipping and tax) this past week, and mentioned on this Forum (unfortunately I see the price has gone back up to $900 plus) ...

Here is a three image horizontal panorama shot from the same position, with the Samyang SYTS24-C 24mm F/3.5 Tilt Shift centred, and also shifted 12mm left and 12mm right.

Images taken from the same position as those above, and processed similarly, merged in PS CC.

1/125, f/11. ISO100

Comparison of plane of focus with the Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 USM and the Samyang 24mm f/3.5 TS-E with 8 degrees of down tilt applied, both images taken at 1/60, f/8, ISO 100 from identical position using 5D Mk3.

Processing identical on both images ...

Again taken with the 5DMk3, two images showing how the plane of focus can be swung to left or right by swinging the Samsung 24mm f/3.5 TS-E lens. The wall in the second image is 35 feet long, and the nearest point is just over a foot from the lens.

Both images taken at 1/60th, the first at f/8, the second at f/16, both at ISO 100. identically processed.
