Hey guys,

I have a newb and possible dumb question, I want begin experimenting with off camera flash. Before I purchases any triggers, I want to make sure I understand this correctly. I only need one-622c-TX for my camera and then a 622c for each flash? I don't need a 622c-TX for the camera and another 622c-TX for the flash. Basically, what I'm asking is I shouldn't buy 3 622c-TX instead I should get 1-tx model and two-622c, correct? tia.

I have a 5d mark 2 (pre 2012) SuperSync does not work
I also have a 5d mark 3 (post 2012) also does not work.

I am not sure what version on the yn622c I have. I think I got them when first released but I forget.

According to our testing, at least it works for most of our devices.

The version is irrelevant. yn622c is stable enough that I have only updated the firmware twice since it released, one is to fix 1D compatibility, the other is for a small pcb change.

Don't know if it's been stated, but I downloaded the new firmware 1.04, and now my triggers are not communicating with my YN-568 but will communicate with my YN-565. I did not change any settings on flashes or the YN-622C transceivers after the firmware update, and they worked fine before it.

Anyone else having this issue?

The Yongnuo site is still showing v1.02 as the latest firmware. Maybe you could rollback to that.

My 50D + C-TX with latest v1.04 is still working fully with the 622C + YN568EX.

Perhaps check your channel and group and mode. Reset C-TX. Your more recent bodies may be a factor.

I triple checked all groups and channels, but will try resetting the C-TX.
It's been working fine on my 5D3 for a number of shoots, but only started acting up after the latest firmware.

If that doesn't work, I'm going back to v1.02 as that worked fine for me.

TOYUG v4.08 is now available. Main change is better detail on the update process - P.20 and P.43.

What kind of control does the TX offer for me using a Canon 580EX? Right now I'm using a 622C on a Canon 7D and on a 580EX, but any changes I make to the flash (either FEC in E-TTL or manual power changes) I have to set on the flash.

With just a 7D and the older 580EX, you don't have full menu control with the camera's flash menu.

But.... When you use the 7D's "flash commander" with the 580EX off camera as a slave flash, I believe you should be able to control the 580 from the camera's Master-Slave flash menu.

Have you tried it yet?

The YN622C-TX will allow you quicker access to +/- FEC and manual power changes, but the 7D/580EX Master/Slave combo should also work on it's own.

So will I be able to control FEC and manual power from the TX?
