Everything works fine but what i find confusing, not that its a huge deal, is when i dial the flash power by thirds on the TX. For example, If im at 1/16 power display on both the TX and flash and i dial the flash down by a third stop, my TX displays 1/32 +0.7. Remember i dialed it -0.3 on 1/16 which is displayed on the flash unit. In the end it all means the same thing ...

It's a non-issue. As you've noticed, it's the same as having a quarter and a nickel or three dimes.

Will the YN-622c-TX controller be able to adjust the power settings on a Yongnuo YN 560 III flash? Or do I need to connect a receiver to that flash for it to work?

The answer is no.

Phil (Whortleberry) posted a diagram early in this thread as to how the 622-TX and 560-TX can be used with the 560s and other flashes:

Hello everyone, sorry in advance for bad English.

I have problems with 622c tranceivers. Have them few days.

My gear:

Canon 70d
Eos M
3 x 622C, recently purchased, 1 from diff ebay shop than other two.
2 X Nissin Di700
1 x Godox TT680
1 X Nissin i40 on camera/transmitter.

i find Godox TT680 a problem they do not work when i use Canon 5Dmk2 + Yn622 but when i use canon 40D + YN622 the flash works perfectly????

nicksoti wrote in post #17118180 (external link)
One small notice, with Godox TT680, if i fire during unit recycle, speedlite and receiver freeze and need restart either speedlite or receiver (then other wakes up also). I noticed I guy had exactly same problem with Metz flashes, in older big thread.

This happens with my Godox Ving 860 so i would guess its a problem with the software in the flash.

I have used Pixel Mago which works well with YN622 Rx... no lockups only problems is manual power control.... you need to set the 622TX to EX mode so it works properly

I posted this in it's own thread on this site but saw this conversation on this thread and felt this was probably the place to ask this question

I have an AlienBees B400 & B800 Strobe and I also own 3 YN 622C wireless triggers with Sync Cables that I use to attach to the strobes. They work great. I have heard that with the new YN 622C-TX you are able to adjust the settings so that you can use Super Sync with the strobes, allowing you to shoot up to an 1/8000th shutter speed. I would much rather use this than buy an ND filter to shoot in the sun. Has anyone had any experience use these triggers with AlienBees or any other strobes with Super Sync and using the adjustment feature on the 622C--TX? I have seen one post while doing a google search about it from someone that said they got it to work with the AlienBees all along the scale from 1/1 Power down to 1/64 Power, but with the Einstein E640 you need to be at 1/1 power to get it to work since that strobe doesn't burn as long.

Would love to hear any advice or input from people who might have used or own these triggers.

Thanks

Mago does not work in EX compatibility mode, too
Mago automatically switches to M mode :)
Mago problem is that it can not sync the setting of power level in the M mode.
All other features are supported.

- Nissin i40 on transmitter as group A, 1st Di700 as group B bouncing ceiling, 2nd Di700 as group C hitting away wall, at - 1.5 EV.
......
- Tried with enouph intervalls between shots, half press then fire. Also tried with burst shots.
......
Even in burst shots (3fps), sometimes 1st shot is not ok and next is ok...

Must mention that in hss, success goes to about 50%.
...
Also, in remote manual or mixed mode (off-camera in manual mode and on-camera in ettl), not any problems at all, almost 100% success.

That actually sound like

1. There is some inconsistency in TTL, which is normal. If I shoot in studio or not moving a lot, use manual(both flash and camera) it's always give more consistence result regardless of whether you use remote trigger and high-end flash or not(with the exception of bad flash unit). If you are in (semi)auto, like Program/Aperture priority/Shutter priority, then both of your camera and flash both try to compensate on every shot. The result will be that every shot will differ from one to another. Even without the flash, shooting in A/S/P mode will very even just a few second apart.

2. Avoid burst and HSS. HSS use more power per the amount of flash output, doing so mean the flash may take longer to recycle. So is burst, especially in TTL, it can be unpredictable. Some flash will fire even if not fully charge while some won't. When you mix the brand this is what happen. Let's say you are firing a burst of 3 shots, each shot were using 1/2 power(and you don't know because you are in TTL). Then the first two shot may fires all of them properly, but the third one won't because some flash will fire even at 1/4 or 1/8 of the power(because that's all the power it can accumulate in the capacitor) while some won't because it didn't have enough.

Scott, could you please add some text detail of what is to be found in the link. Without that, it looks scumbaggy, spamming, car-salesmanlike. Of cousre, if it is disguised selling, then perhaps remove it.
