Any up to date on the transmission range for the YN-622C-TX? I have eight of the YN-622C and am very happy with them, but really want the extra control from the TX if the range issue is resolved.

I'm wondering the same thing. I have 5 of the YN-622c. From what I can tell from reading thru this is that the range of the YN-622C-TX is about 60 feet. Is that correct and did the firmware update improve the range?

Can't access full data as I'm currently in hospital. However, I did very comprehensive tests with v1.3 software and totally reliable results stopped at a rather dismal 18metres with Yn622C-Tx but ran to 80+ metres with just Yn622s.
PS for obvious reasons, I haven't fully tested software after v1.3.

I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering a TX + two yn-622C's. Any suggestions as to where I should get them from? Yongnuo directly, or any outlets on Amazon (Xtron, for example), that are fulfilled by Amazon? Here on Ebay? http://www.ebay.com …ain_0&hash=item233f25f691 (external link)

PERSONALLY, I'd eschew the questionable value of 'local' (ie country-specific) warranties and buy direct from the makers hkyongnuophotoequipment on ePrey. That way you get the latest firmware (non user-updatable) on the YN622Cs.

So I am currently in the market for some lighting gear and it couldn't be at a better time. Yongnuo is creating some amazing equipment. My current setup is (2) rf-603's and (1) YN-560 III. I would like to be able to shoot with HSS with full manual control from the camera. No other features are really important at this time (just starting portrait shooting so this is all new to me). Thinking a simple two flash setup.

What would be the best set up? The 622C-TX is obvious, but I am confused on the flashes part. Do I just get two 568's and and the matching 622 receivers and be done? Or can the 560 III use the optical slave to be triggered by one 568 in HSS mode? I would like to be able to use my 560 so I am not effectively wasting it. I can use it if not in HSS, but I will need to buy two flashes anyways to use HSS when doing wide open outdoor portraits or action shots. Anything else I should consider?

Last question, any more info on the new strobes? I haven't seen any more info since hey announced it, and honestly haven't looked into strobes at all. Should I hold off another month or two to see if they come out and buy those instead? Or for a beginner do you think I should just stick to flashes?

Anyone? I was hoping to piggy back off this thread instead of making a new one.

I don't know much about the 560III's so can't help you there.. but the 622C and 622C-TX work great with the 568 EXII's in HSS both in TTL and/or manual modes. You don't NEED the TX, it just adds some extra capabilities and not needing to use the built in camera menu. If you prefer not using the camera menu then by all means the TX is the way to go, but also note the that TX does not have as much range as the plain old 622C's do. Hope this info helps some.

Yes if the 568 is in manual HSS mode and the 560 is set to full power. If the 568 is in HSS E-TTL, the preflash will fire the 560 before the shutter opens. If the 560 is less than full power, the shutter curtain will be visible in the frame.

The 560 does not have HSS capability; what you're doing is using the relatively long flash duration at full power to illuminate the scene.

Thanks for the info. I think the TX is the way for me since I dont want to have to go into the camera to adjust settings.

Thanks so much for the info and especially the explanation on why it is working. Looks like I will just get a TX and a 568 and test the 560 to see how it works for me. That will save me the cost of a full 568 since I wont have to buy a second flash.

Thanks again for the info guys!

Another option would be to mount your 603 in the hotshoe of a remote 622 and fire the pair from a 622 in the camera hotshoe. Since the remote 622 will fire the single pin 560 flash I don't know why it wouldn't fire the single pin 603 trigger. Of course if you are only firing a single 560 you can just skip the 603 and mount the flash on the 622. If you have multiple 560iii's though, it would let you fire them all from the remote 622/603 stack and still keep your passthrough hotshoe on your camera mounted 622 open for an on top ETTL flash.

Edit: This is in reply to post #98

Update: I tested this when I got home from work and it performed as expected. The 560 fired from the 603 trigger mounted on the remote 622c. Note: I used 603II triggers, but the version 1 603's should work the same.

Ok, So I am way late on seeing this. Not sure how I missed it, but thank you. This will work great! Don't know why I didn't think of it.

I was referred into this thread from another thread...

I've got the 602's that I want to replace with the 622's and MAYBE the 622-TX later.

Question though:
I have a Yongnuo + Canon flash, but what if I add a different strobe later?

For example the Godo AD360 or EX400. How could I remote fire/control these with the 622c - or how else would it work?
