Thanks. Looks like I have 1.03. Next stupid question, how do I update it? I plugged it into a USB port but my computer doesn't recognize it.

Windows. Don't know if it's just a problem with Yongnuo's site. Is there anywhere else to download from?

I downloaded two pdf manuals from their site yesterday - very slow, and no progress indication. I left the second download running and came back half-an-hour later to find that it had in fact completed. Persevere!

PS - with the release of an improved pcb, there may also be an update being prepared which is blocking access temporarily.

Version 4.10 of TOYUG is now available.

It covers Interoperation, including the new YN560-TX relay mode.

Yes. For the last couple of months, all I got from the TOYUG link was a blank page in both Firefox and IE. The last version I downloaded (4.08) was from a direct PDF link provided in a post by Phil (Whortleberry).

Thanks for advising me, OVF. I checked, and there was an exclamation next to the file. A dialog said "deemed inappropriate... cannot be shared".

I saw a link to ask for a review, and did so. Within a minute, the exclamation disappeared, and I was able to again access the sharing options.

It would be helpful to know if the link now works.

BTW Phil's link also should take you to the current version - 4.09, or 4.10 if Phil has received and processed my email .

I was having that issue too. Have the trigger off and connected via usb to the computer. Hold Mode button and then turn on the trigger, and mine connected and I was able to update it.

Some of my feedback

Not for me. I get the blank page as before. But Phil's link (V4.09) does load directly into Adobe Reader. So all is good as long as others can read your Google link. My machine is eleven years old and may have been struck by several cosmic rays.

That works if the TX updater and included driver are already installed. thegrandpoohbah was unable to download that software from Yongnuo's site.

  1. Yes, he has.
  2. Yes, uploaded the latest version (previous ones still available if required. I haven't removed them, just changed the link.)
  3. Yes, link (below) updated. Glad it's proving useful to some folks - I too had difficulty with the Google link on occasion, hence my little contribution.

In the same 'hands-across-the-sea" vein, here's the Updater Zip file (needs unzipping, quelle surprise!). http://www.westonphoto.plus.com …Trigger_Updater_Setup.zip (external link)

  1. Download
  2. Unzip & instal somewhere where you can actually FIND it (Yep, been there - done that, etc, etc.)
  3. Download latest firmware update (currently v1.06) from YN site.
  4. Follow the destructions to instal latest firmware.
  5. Worry ye not - if you make a c*ck-up, you CAN go back and instal the previous version. Even certain people (no names, no pack drill) who because dey is stoopid installed the Nikon FW version can recover. I know, I was that ejit :oops:

Phil ǁ Kershaw Soho Reflex: 4¼" Ross Xpres, 6½" Aldis, Super XX/ABC Pyro in 24 DDS, HP3/Meritol Metol in RFH, Johnson 'Scales' brand flash powder. Kodak Duo Six-20/Verichrome Pan. Other odd bits over the decades, simply to get the job done - not merely to polish and brag about cos I'm too mean to buy the polish!
