Dear CliveyBoy,
Thank you very much for your time and help.

But I decided to ended with 622C (I can sell them as new) and switch to YN-E3RX, when it will be available. If this tranceiver will not compatible with 550EX, I will use it in dumb mode with 550EX or replace 550EX with YN-600EX-RT.

Again, thank you very much.

P.S. But I will check again contacts and let you know the results. I think too, this may be the key of the problem.

I wouldn't hold your breath on the yne3rx if I were you.

YN have form when it comes to taking their time between teasing and launching.

I doubt the 550ex old flashes will be compatible anyway.

First, YN already have YN600EX-RT in production, with integrated RT receiver. So, I think, it is not so hard for YN to take receiver only from the flash and make it standalone.
Second, I will use native Canon's optical wireless protocol in my setup, when I will wait for YNE3-RX.

I think, we will see YNE3-RX in near month or two.

Kubik. I think your logic is sound. When combined with the stiff competition from Shanny, I'm sure they are very anxious to get their 600 system to market and follow up soon with a stand alone receiver that would be compatible. I'll struggle along with what I have until they come to market and then convert.

I want to know too. I ordered one from the YN shop to be fulfilled when it was available. They shipped one immediately, but it appears to be the old pcb! Still awaiting clarification.:-(

CliveyBoy, you seem to have good info on these units. I want to order an N version of the 622 Kit (1 622N + 1 622N-TX) from the Honk Kong based eBay seller "hkyongnuophotoequipment". Am I correct in assuming that both the C and N version of the TX unit have the same range problem? I am betting they just differ in firmware and I should wait until they are shipping the units with the updated boards.

I asked how one could identify the "New PCB" and never got an answer. There are other options that work reliably.....It might cost more, but the fact that it works reliably, makes for an easy decision in my case.

For those who purchased YN622C recently, we have added a YN560 mode to YN622C transceiver.
...
And, we improved the PCB design of YN622C-TX and believe that it's as good as YN622C now.

This is Mr Liang's post of 26 December 2014; its his most recent post here.

This indicates that the YN560 mode version was available before Christmas, and seems to imply that the new pcb is also released. I have not yet opened the case of my new C-TX, because it may need to be sent back.

This paragraph is rubbish- ignore: I'm slow! the "new" unit does not have the YN560 Mode, so it IS old!. If my reading of the post is correct, this would be a way to tell if we have the new pcb.

Clive, if I am reading his post correctly he says the 560 mode was added to the 622C Transceiver rather than the TX unit. Not sure how that would work though??

 Perhaps that is why I missed it earlier! Thanks for the correction.

So, has anyone tested the YN560 mode in the YN622C?

And how do we identify the range-improved pcb in the YN622C-TX?

Unfortunately, but I tested my setup again, my 550EX doesn't works off camera in group B with 430EX II on camera in group A.
So, I leave the owners of 622C.

P.S. I ordered my 622C in december and it has 560 mode -I can enable it when hold down CH SET and power on, then status LED will lit in orange.

Thanks for this.

Is there a build date sticker in the battery compartment by any chance?

Sorry, it's more and more difficult for me to access websites outside of China.

We improved YN-E3-RT and YN622C-TX in November, 2014. The factory began to assemble the new version in December. If the date of manufacture is later than Dec/15/2014, it should be the latest version. There may be some existing stocks of old version depends on the sellers.
