Sorry, it's more and more difficult for me to access websites outside of China.

We improved YN-E3-RT and YN622C-TX in November, 2014. The factory began to assemble the new version in December. If the date of manufacture is later than Dec/15/2014, it should be the latest version. There may be some existing stocks of old version depends on the sellers.

Hi liangcc,

Is this also the same for the YN622N-TX or did that one not need the improvement?

Is there a build date sticker in the battery compartment by any chance?

Yes, there is 12/2014 sticker inside the battery compartment. Not exact date but only month/year.

Clive, if I am reading his post correctly he says the 560 mode was added to the 622C Transceiver rather than the TX unit. Not sure how that would work though??

Wait! I've been out of the loop but what is this 560 mode?

Edit This is not the C-TX proxy mode which was available since day 1, right? This 622C allows you to basically use the 560-TX with 622c receivers outside of 560 flashes?

But can't the 560-TX also trigger 602/603 receivers?

Yes but the YN560-TX should now be able to control the manual power levels of other TTL flashes (like YN-568EX etc) mounted on the latest YN-622C receivers.

The RF602 / RF603 can only fire other flashes from the YN560-TX not control them.

Ok thanks, so the YN-622C update is from or after December 2014 as well.

Ooh! Would have been nice to add to my exiting 565EX but I have the older 622C's :(

Has anyone received a YN622C-TX recently, with a QC/Build date of 12/2014 or 1.2015? If so, who supplied it?

I have been unable to get e reply about this from YN or from merchants!

The new units should have a a new PCB version later than v1.03, which have an improved radio range.

I have been running more transmission range tests with various combinations of transmitters and remotes, and have found no particular patterns other that there was about a 50% firing rate, with the latest combination being the worst. However, I was getting a greater range than with earlier tests.

Does it matter? Yes, because the advertised range is "up to 100M". 1M falls within that range of performances - I wanted to provide some actual numbers.

And yes, it matters to people working with large arenas, and architectural structures, etc. And everyone needs to work at less than the "maximum" range to ensure reliability.

I have been unable to track down a new production unit to purchase, so have abandoned the range tests.

I just ordered one off of Amazon. Amazon says, "Sold by Yongnuo. Shipped by Amazon." So, I figure I have a 50/50 chance of getting an older or a newer unit. I've been wanting one of these for a while, but life kept interfering and sucking my wallet dry. This will be here tomorrow, so I'll let you know.

The description says,

The improved YN-622C-TX also enhances stability, as well as improving information transmission speeds.

It doesn't say anything about improved range or a 560 mode, though. So, still at 50/50. -?

LOL... we'll see what happens. If it's coming UPS, I'll get it around 11am or so. If it's coming by FedEx, who knows. Maybe by 9pm. Hopefully I'll have time to play with it a bit. My kids are going to hate me. Again.

Three things to check and report back, pretty please - the QC date in the battery compartment, month and year; and the serial number near the sticker (so we have a before/after reference); and the firmware version - press <Mode> while turning on the C-TX.
:-)

QC date is 11/14, bummer. I would assume itdoesn't have the new PCB in it. SN is 65029079 and FW is 1.05. I'll check it out and see how it does, anyway, as individual mileage can vary.
