I just bought a Powershot A640 from KEH for use in my lab, but it didn't include the software disk. The plan is to do remote capture of DNA gels using Canon's Remote Capture Task utility that used to ship with this and other PowerShots of the era. However, I have discovered that the current Camera Window app, which has Remote Capture, no longer supports the PowerShot cameras. So, does anyone know where I can get the Mac installer from the PowerShot cameras of this era?

Thanks.

"Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

Unfortunately, no. When I downloaded that yesterday it included the new version of Camera Window that does not allow Remote Capture for this camera. Apparently, you can only do it with most of the DSLRs, a few of the last G cameras (G11 to G16, I think) and the G-1X. I'm going to have locate a CD installer from one of these early cameras.

I sympathize and have been round in circles for 2 days, removing viruses along the way!

still holding out on not spending $95 + tax on 3rd party software (ps remote)

cant find any older software plus I am using vista on this old comp so I am now trawling ebay for a replacement disc

using a canon powershot A640 which is a model not supported by remote capture dc software 2.7
