I have a wedding in August and the waterfall in this area the bride wants photos. I have been down there and the forest canopy is thick and the light is minimal.

Getting in there is a 5 minute walk over a well worn but uneven trail with tree roots, rocks etc.

I have 2 Canon speed lights, umbrellas fired with PW's

or

I can use my 2 Einsteins, battery packs and umbrellas fired with PW's

I would place one setup either side of the creek and aim at the bridge which is over the creek where they would be pose, the waterfall is in the background.

Set-up time is important as the party does not want to wait till I get things set up and working.

I also can't set-up before and leave it as I have no one to watch the gear.

The venue is 5 minutes away and as we all know time is tight on wedding shoots!

Any thoughts on this?

With a nice waterfall setting I'd be tempted to try some long exposures.

Go a few days early and give it a go.

I'm not as think as you confused I am..

Sounds like you need to bring an assistant. ;)

If it is a 5 minute walk normally it will be longer for a bride. You can run ahead and should be able to have it set up by the time they get there.

If they want photos there they need to accept any setup time involved. Manage their expectations.

Go there with an assistant or two beforehand, set up and practice the set ups on location a day or two before. Try some creative stuff, try some standard must have shots. Navigate the best route. Time yourself to see how long each set up takes if you wish

Look online for eye candy waterfall/wedding photos and see if you can mix up some set ups to work within the area, with the time frame you have.

Two lights and two brollies you can prolly do a lot with. Such as filtering the light through the trees, I think that would be cool in an area like that. Maybe not enough power though, that's the only thing
