Every day for the last week, I have tried to get a photo of this itty bitty yellow bird way up high in the trees...finally a few shots worth sharing. I did a search on here to make sure I had the correct identification. Whenever I have an unusual bird sighting, no doubt he has visited Ian up in Nova Scotia. Sure enough, his photos popped up from last year!

I managed a shot of the female with a mouthful of bugs, but the quality is not that great.

Thanks John. Tough is right. They sure do love to hide in the foliage.

Thank you Cheryl. I had no idea what this bird was the first time I saw it. I assumed it was a warbler...there are a lot of yellow warblers!

Thanks Peter. It really is a pretty bird, seems a shame that it doesn't have a more exciting name!

Common Yellowthroats have been my mission for close to a year now. They are so fast and hardly sit still so I know how good of a capture you got there! Nice one for sure.

Thanks Ian. For these shots he was right at eye level. Usually I had to strain my neck looking up to spot him. Trying to photograph him up that high was crazy!

Thank you so much. I'm pretty much a backyard bird watcher, photographer, so if they don't come to me, I don't usually see them. I sure am glad I spotted this one when walking to my mailbox! The Pine Warbler came to my feeders earlier this spring. That was a first for me too.
