Firstly, I don't do sport, my main focus is wildlife, but seeing as the opening stage of the TDF was passing the end of the road, it was too good an opportunity to miss.

I was limited in that I only had a Canon 100-400L, and I totally underestimated the crowd size, but I made the best of it :-)

#2 looks OOF. The others are OK. Nothing separating them from the thousands of photos filling Facebook and Twitter these days. At least you are not like the houndreds of #$%&%/ that nearly block the road for the riders just to get a photo with your phone or iPad. Thumbs up for that. :)

On the Burley by-pass between Otley & Ilkley. It was a spectacular event.

Like I said, I don't normally do sport, so hopefully I can be forgiven getting something slightly OOF :(

I was just pleased to be able to get some half-decent shots of an event that is never likely to pass the end of my road again.

The marshals on our stretch of the course weren't allowing us on the roads, having seen shots from higher up the Dales, they were right to do so.

It's tough when they go by once and that's it. I think you've got to warm up shooting other stuff (people, cars, birds) so when the cyclists arrive you're on top of your game and can make the best of the short time you have. Thanks for posting!
