C&C appreciated, however I will add a caveat...

these shots were somewhat experimental. I shot at 160 ISO, and f/10.
The focus was tricky, but even trickier was the exposure.
Every shot was bulb mode, with me watching the light and just guessing.

I REALLY wanted a fast shutter shot of the moments of the firing,
but it's very tough to time and the shows are short. Given my experience trying to
capture muzzle flashes by the "spray and pray" method, I figured just going for the long expo might be the best shot.

I like the first one. #2: Don't see much point in B&W fireworks. In the last one, you might have been able to shoot a burst at a faster shutter speed & blend the best part of each exposure:

I like what you've done here. It's kind of a BTS photo shoot of a fireworks display. I think locking the shutter open for a long exposure was your best bet. The only other option would have been to crank up the ISO and shoot a burst of images. I think this looks better. I like the ghostly images and the motion blur of the people.

Very creative. Keep shooting.

Gear: EOS 5DMKII; EOS 400D (infrared converted); Canon 24-105mm f/4 L; Sigma 17-35mm f/2.8-4 EX; Canon 70-200mm f/4 L; Canon 135mm f/2.0 L; Pentax SMC Takumar 50mm f/1.4 with EOS adaptor, Rokinon 14mm f/2.8; only enough knowledge to be a clear and present danger to society.

thanks for the tips guys!
next year I'll probably try a little of both...hopefully I'll have a bit more gear so I can mix it up a tad.
I really want to try a burst and get more flame detail in the image...less blowout.
