I had heard that Google+ was a photo friendly social media site, and I was looking to share my photos.
So I posted on today for the first time. It went o.k. I posted in a photography community, described the image and put a link to my website, nothing for sale, just more of my images (I don't sell my photos, I don't advertise anything). Got 40 +1's, and a couple comments. That's all I was looking for.
The problem came with my second post. I did the same thing as the first post, but I posted it in a different community. A fairly large community of nature photos. I received a couple of +1's and then a comment.... "No links allowed.. please read the rules!"
So I am a bit turned off with Google+. I realize that different forums, and different communities have different rules, and I want to respect them. (I did remove the link, then a while later I deleted the entire post).
Is this common... is Google+ a good place to show off some of my photos? If so then what are the best communities that you post to? If not, what have been your experiences. I know I shouldn't let one experience keep me away, but I am curious if G+ is as much of a waste of time as Facebook has become.
