This RTH didn't seem to mind me at all, I watched him for about 45 minutes hoping to see him dive for something.....but no action. Shot with 400mm f/5.6L + Kenko 1.4X

Nice one Darren. The younger hawks don't know any better humans are a threat to them.

I assumed by some of its coloring on its chest that it was younger, but I guess you hammered down my guess with your statement....and its behavior. It sure was a blast watching it and hearing it scream out randomly.

The tail feather colors was the give-away for me along with the eye color. I was fortunate to follow a first year RTH for nearly 7 months and got to watch it hunt, change eye color and get it's red/bronze tail feathers....it could care less about people being around it. One of the other photographers got her picture taken with it as it sat on a bench not 5' apart. It's amazing somer of the tolerances of wildlife...each one is different. :D

Eye color goes from a blue as a fledgling to yellow than eventually the brown they're known for as adults.
