When I saw the first photo posted by Ricardo I agreed with Ohlook and gave serious thought to leaving the camera at home for the week. There have been some great captures shared by others as well, it has been a good theme.
This evening the wife and I rode the ATV to check out the East farm and on the way home stopped by the lake and took this shot.As the Sun was setting the colors kept changing and the clouds moving so I took several shots but kind of liked this one.
In the far right of the photo you can see a large tree leaning out over the water, I live 1 mile straight behind the tree. The overflow water from this lake drains into a small creek that meets an even larger creek and they flow straight at my front door then veer to the South West into the River. The 550 acre lake has been running out the spillway for a month now which greatly increases my chances for flooding on my farm during heavy rains.
Water, a must have for life can be so precious, needed, plentiful and destructive any given day around the World. At this time we could share with our West coast friends but one year ago we were begging for rain. It is so unpredictable.

Thank you for the kind thoughts, Grizz. However, your picture is very fine and certainly fits this thread. I bet that, like me when I made that first shot, you found it hard to drag yourself away...I know that sometimes I just can't move and am almost hypothermic by the time the light goes!

Nice work all! I look forward to your next theme Jo.

I used the cover of the "Deep Purple in Rock" album (good guess, Joayne!), put a large, round, glass bowl on it, filled to the brim with water and then stirred the water and took photographs. I had it on the ground and I was shooting straight down. Here's a link to what the album looks like: http://upload.wikimedia.org …4/Deep_Purple_in_Rock.jpg (external link)

I wanted something with a bit of colour and something that was interesting. I tried a few things and liked this one best.

But I started wanting to do just water droplets and then thought they were boring, so I then tried several other things and ended up with this.

Thanks Levina. I'll put that on my to do list.

I played around with some stuff last night and thought this shot was rather fun. Taken through moving water in a bowl.

Thanks Ricardo, OldCrow, EastBayGirl, and Terry for the comments. Liking the shot by kelstar a lot too.
Ricardo, you are absolutely right about not wanting to leave the peaceful water scenes. I like stopping by this lake close to home near Sunset or when there is a storm approaching
to watch the scenes and colors change by the second. It seems to me bodies of water fascinate many people and invite us just to relax and look at, much like a nice campfire.
