There are 5 baby Tree Swallows in this house....only 4 can see out the enlarged hole at a time. The hole is actually standard size until a few days before they fledge, then I take off the front panel to give them more room to look out ;). These guys should be leaving any day now.

4. Not sure what was going on here. A third adult ventured near the nest, maybe one of last year's young. The resident adult warned him off.

Thanks Al. It makes it easier for the young ones to see out, and for the busy parents to make their withdrawals and deliveries of food. The front cover comes off maybe a week before they are due to fledge.
