Took this in St. Lucia. Sharpness not quite where I would want it (to add to the dramatic feel). It was a pretty major crop from my old 7D. What do you think?

Jul 07, 2014 21:29 | #2 I like everything about it except the lack of definition in the background water. My first attempt to correct it would be to pull back the highlights in Lightroom, or equivalent, to add some contrast in the water itself, but still keeping it as a dark subject against a relatively light background. I found this a very interesting shot because he was a local of the island of St. Lucia. He was obviously very poor, (my wife and I would witness him hand row this very small boat with one paddle back and forth from a town about half a mile across a small harbor over and over again during the day) yet he prioritized his budget so that he could pay for a cell phone. This was not uncommon in St. Lucia. I saw a few people who I would have guessed could not afford a place to live yet they were talking on cell phones. WEBSITE

I should've added more of a story with the shot. If you read my above comment you will find why I thought this shot was interesting. Thanks for the comment WEBSITE
