After reviewing my fireworks photos from this year, I have come to the conclusion that portrait orientation is best for that work. I use a 6D and a 60D, and a cheap Promaster tripod. All well and good, so far.
What is an inexpensive way to mount my camera on the tripod in portrait orientation? With my 70-200 I can use the ring and just spin the camera and lens together. When using my Tamron 28-75 or efs 15-85, that is not an option. I don't need 'quick-change' so an L-bracket seems way overpriced. Is there a way to do this for $10 or so? I know this seems kind of cheap-skatey, but why spend $100+ on something I need for 30 minutes a year?
