I recently came across this blog and I really like the tone of her black and whites. I've toyed around with the split tone in Lightroom and I can get sorta close but not "it". I was wondering if some of you who are much more talented than I could figure out what the split tone numbers might be for this look? Many thanks!

it's done in photoshop. simple overlay that can be created in 30 seconds.

If you are a photographer that follows trends then look into vsco. That's what "trendy wedding photographers" use to be cool.

I'm not in front of a computer at the moment (iPhone) but from my memory try something like this in Lightroom's split-toning:

Leave Highlights off (saturation at 0)
Shadows: Saturation at 10-15, hue at something in between 30 and 45

Hope that helps a bit.

Here are the curves you can apply to a desaturated image to get the same toning. That is, use an RGB image, desaturate to 0 and apply these curves to the R, G and B channels. Attached is a snip of the source image from the site you linked and the curves shown below applied to an image I shot.

Take a look at the curves and think about what they are doing -at a specific tonal value, green and blue are being "removed" (curves shifted downward) more than red, giving the image an overall red tint. The adjustment is slight in the shadow tones and much more significant in the mid and highlight tones. Absolute white has been pulled down in all three channels, reducing contrast in the highlights.

You can set up these tone curves in LR and then save them as a preset.

I see what you're saying kirkt. Your explaining it that way really helps a lot. I played around a bit yesterday and saw how the image was affected. I'm going to keep trying to see what happens.
