Good Price for Canon 5D MarkII?

I have been considering buying a Canon 5D MarkII for a while and now have the opportunity.
Asking price for the camera is $1300 US.
Camera is described as being a couple of years old, in very good condition other than a few small marks.
Does appear in good condition based on the pictures provided.
Less than 30 thousand clicks on it.
Also included in the price, are a couple of Canon batteries, Canon remote shutter release, large capacity CF card plus what normally comes in the box with a new camera.
Seller has the original (I assume) box the camera came in.
Shipping is also included in the price.
Is $1300 considered a good price for all of this?

I know that a brand new Canon 6D body can be bought for roughly the same price but, at this time, I'm not interested in that body.

A little expensive from your description. I wouldn't pay anymore than $1,150 for a 5 year old camera with 30k on it and some marks/scratches. All the other stuff the seller is including is virtually worthless and the seller's way of justifying the price asked.

The selling price should be less than the 6d and not similar. IMHO.

That price seems high to me for what you are getting. $1,000-$1,100 would be more justifiable.
It is a good camera, but out of curiousity, what makes you not want the 6D?

The pro is -3 center point AF and the con would be the limit of 1/8000 SS
I chose the 6D and use an ND filter wide open if needed.
Personally I don't use the wifi or gps ever, so those were non-benefits for me.

Having owned both 5dmk2 and 6d and also 5dmk3, I would take 6d over 5dmk2 anytime.

I don't feel the Canon batteries and remote shutter release ars useless accessories. Pretty hard to take any photos without batteries and having spares is always useful. I use a remote shutter all the time when shooting from a tripod.

I bought my second 5D MkII body from KEH in Atlanta, with battery and charger for $1105, delivered. It was listed in EX condition, I would have said better than that when I had it in my hands. (Your mileage may vary)
So for comparison, it would sound to me that 1300 is a bit high.

It all depends on market in your area. In Hawaii, there have been a few 5D2 sales over $1,400. That's just for the body, cap, charger and battery. On top of that, these bodies have seen over 40K actuations. To me, I wouldn't buy something that has over 40K regardless of what the life expectancy is. But, if its the body with the best condition in my area, then I wouldn't have a choice.

I decided to pass on buying the camera.
In the end, it would've cost me a little over $1500 CDN for the camera once taxes and duty fees were factored in.
I couldn't convince myself to spend that kind of money on a used camera without any kind of warranty or return option.
I've had my mind set on getting this particular camera model for quite a while but now, I guess I've realized that isn't going to happen. At least not through a private sale.

Maybe I'll get lucky at some point with the Canon refurb thing.

As far as the Canon 6D goes, maybe I should've said not considering instead of not interested.
Initially, the cost difference between the 5DII and the 6D was the main factor in not being interested in the 6D.
Even at $1500 for the 5DII, it still would be roughly $400 cheaper than a new 6D.
But on the other hand, I would get a brand new camera for the extra $400.
So now, I am considering the 6D.

You will not be disappointed with a 6D.

Interesting. I'd raise an eyebrow at 100k, I guess, but I really don't care, as long as it's working well. I've had a few outings come in over 5k in one day, so my perspective may be different. This is a 1D3 though. When I started my search for a 1D3 or 7D, I was looking for the most beat up one I could find that was fully functional, to keep the price low.

My post did not say "useless", it said "worthless" and does not justify the asking price for the camera.

Yeah I've had crazy days with more than 3K actuations. I just have trust issues.

There's plenty of used 6D's out there, some new in box, especially on craigslist. I've seen used ones as low as $1200CDN and new ones $1600.
