using the Alien Bee mount.

Check it out.

Looks like an interesting light former. Is there a Hensel mount?

For mounts I believe they have Bowens, Alien Bee,
Profoto and Elinchrom.

You should check there website to be sure.

Nice looking modifier and great shots! You made me want one....until I saw the price tag! Yikes! I am curious though, where this modifier fits in with the Rapid Box line that's been out for a little while.

Yeah, not cheap, but reasonably priced. It's in the same ballpark with other quality light formers. The manufacturer's own is just a little bit more: http://www.bhphotovideo.com …90_parabolic_softbox.html (external link). That Westcott better be of similar quality, though; if it ain't, then it is definitely very pricey.

How efficient is it in terms of power drain, Craig? What were your apertures vs Joules?

Hi,

I didn't due any real scientific analysis...

But with just the interior baffle installed I
was able to shoot on the Beach on a sunny
day with the Einstein around F11.

For the video link I posted I believe I was shooting
at f4 around half power on the Einstein maybe slightly
more.

I think the silver interior helps, as well as the gap
around the baffle.

You will lose a little more light when you add the
second diffusion panel.

I'm shooting another video next week with the 35 Zeppelin
so I will try to go over my settings a little better in that video.

There are so many things to think about on a Photo shoot
I sometimes forget to cover all the technical details.

I am lucky if I can remember to hit the shutter button, lol.

Craig

Good video. It's a bit expensive for my wallet at the moment but I can see how it would be a useful tool.

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.

The light from a parabolic is more contrasty, and it spills less into the background; additionally, the shadow edges are more defined.
