This week's rather whimsy challenge is: Your favourite failure - a photo that wasn't what you were trying to take but like anyway, or a project that went wrong but you are proud of anyway!

Photo Submissions:

1. Camera -- Any Canon PowerShot Series Camera (SD-series, ELPH, IXUS, SX-series, D-series, A-series, S1/2, & S-series only ... No Pro 1's or G-Series!!!)

2. Time -- Any on-topic photo taken at any time is eligible, although photos that have won other competitions should NOT be entered.

*** 3. Size -- Photos must be no larger than 1280 pixels on the longest side, with NO BORDERS.

4. Post-Processing -- Do whatever you like and the host will decide if it works.

5. Posting --

* One photo per photographer in each challenge.
* Photo title optional.
* Camera model.
* EXIF data, if you like.

6. Commenting -- No commenting on photos by anyone, including the photographer until voting is closed. Once the winners are declared, photographers can add comments to their images and everyone is invited to discuss.

7. Photo Display -- Photos must appear in this thread to be eligible.

8. Hosting & Resizing -- If you need assistance readying your image for entry, please PM either a moderator, or the person running this week's challenge.

I was on the the cabin top holding the main sail in position so I had a chance to grab a few shots, I wanted to shoot each of the boats following us but pushed the shutter release using the eye level finder on the SD990 before I zoomed in on the first boat, wrong exposure, wrong zoom, bad framing and the back stay in the image. Thank goodness for LR

I reckon we've all had a few like that. Here's some from a recent trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Tennessee. Laurel Falls, shooting with my SX50, no tripod (I never seem to use a tripod). Once I got home I noted that I was way off on the level, but when I tried to straighten the image the top was cropped, so adjusted by keeping the original size, filled in the border, and added some text (I don't think I tweaked the lighting, so I did it was very slight).

Hee hee - Love those two!

I was trying to get photos of signs but I got a lot more more wires and poles than I 'saw'. Not sure I'll save this one, too much of a failure.
