All you need is your CAC card and another form of ID with your picture on it. If you're at a remote location they should have what they call mail rodeo's for sending stuff out once a month.

Hth's And no, I don't know of any Asia repair facilities near Afghanistan. If this doesn't would go to Canon's website and use "contact us". Email Canon USA and ask them for a recommendation.
