This has been my worst season for photographing hummers. Days passed without seeing a hummer.
I decided to give it a try yesterday and in 43-minutes came away with 761 shots.

Posting two images.

Well those shots are just beauties! I have hummers here but not nearly the numbers I have seen in past years. They also seem to be preferring my feeders to the flowers this year too. Even a feeder in the middle of a garden with bee balm attracts way more visitors than the flowers. I am not sure why.

Thanks for the reply Carol. Seems the #s are down across the east coast.

Not the first time I've heard that. Wonder what's going on. Climate changes?

Very nice Ted, It does seem that everything is a little out of sorts this year, I know that winter lasted so long here everything is just a little behind, but I'm hoping for a fantastic fall, some buddy owes us that I think.

Looks like you are making up for lost time rather quickly. Very pretty set. Like others, my numbers are down as well. No squabbling going on over territory.

Its amazing (about territory) Sandy. I have only twice seen territorial battles this year and for the first time ever do not have a dominant male in my back yard. Thanks for the reply.

Very nice, Ted. Its always interesting to observe the ebb and flow with certain species; some years they're here and some years they aren't.
