Great shots, Lester, you have a lot of interesting birds near you. And a tail so long, you couldn't get it all in in a couple of shots;) Bet you gave yourself a scolding or two.

Cute level of these is quite high. Good pics. Are these a common bird?

They are widespread across the UK as shown here http://www.rspb.org.uk …/longtailedtit/index.aspx (external link) but the numbers AFAIK are not great and if you are lucky enough to see them in the garden it is as mentioned above a fleeting visit :(

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

Well I live in Puerto Rico so possibly I will never see them is person. In my garden I get frequently visited by a Pin Tailed Whyda which in some parts is not that common. Would love to see those guys in person though.

Well done getting those Lester. LTTs never seem to sit still so any shot is worth having. I wasn't aware of the different colours on the juv's until I saw these, now I see how the juv's have lighter feathers before taking on adult plumage.

Thank you all for your kind comments, I am so pleased you all enjoyed these.

Oscar: They are widespread and fairly abundant in the UK. They are a woodland bird and tend to zip through an area so views are transient. They occasionally visit garden feeders as a small flock of around six individuals, a visit lasts less than 30 seconds. I have never seen juveniles before, this was 2 or 3 birds hanging around for about a minuet, in two closely spaced trees. Despite their cute looks the adults can be very territorially aggressive; I have had a pair drop to the ground fighting a few feet from me and be oblivious to my presence.

Mark: I usually find branch clutter is the problem with LTT, they are normally moving around looking for small insects I guess. The RSPB page shows the illustration for adult and juv, the RSPB book by Rob Hume is very good for showing juvs including the LTT and some seasonal variants.
