What's the staus on AMASS? I couldn't find much. Any development help needed? I might be able to pitch in.

He's polishing up the Moderation tools, without which there's no way he'll turn it loose (gotta be able to zap the spammers, right?). Like TeamSpeed said, he's doing it all himself; time required to code an application is exponentially increased by adding programmers. Been there, done that.

The spamming crap is just out of hand... It's getting ridiculous with the new gif tracking tags now, on top of the mass sales/CC accounts/Movies for free, etc. Like do those things even work? Who really clicks on those things these days?

Thanks :)

Can we get a new forum to argue about the effectiveness of adding programmers to a project? (20 years in the business, mostly developing, lots of leading and management)

Kidding, of course: I certainly understand that projects are different, and open source in your spare time is a completely different animal.

Geesh, don't get me started... we have some crazy projects at work now, and our leader (prez) thinks we can just add programmers to the staff for new projects without impacting current projects and resources... <sigh>

He just doesn't understand the ramp-up time for new folks to learn the customers, the industry, our processes and paradigms, our technologies, etc, and how the current resources are used to do that.

<sigh again>

Despite a vision statement governing our decisions, it seems like any time custom software is needed, we will do it, so our vision statement is really "anything for a dollar"

<heavy sigh>

thus why I spend so much time here, it is so much more refreshing to be amongst those that understand! :)
