I've had this happen to me several times now - when I'm done editing in Efex I click Save; then LR pops back up with the edited pic that now has varying sizes of black blocks. Example:

Agh! Hit submit too soon! Anyway, any ideas what this is? I uninstalled Efex and reinstalled hoping that might fix it but obviously not.

Thanks!

Not sure but sometimes funkiness like that is caused by problems with you video card driver. If you have the latest version of LR, Nik, and your video card driver you can try to disable the special graphics processing in Silver Efex (2).

Here is a link with that and a few other ideas:

Does the image have these problems when viewed in other applications (as in, is this permanent image damage or just a display issue in LR?)

Dan - yes, it seems to be a permanent problem as it appears when the image is opened in other applications.

However, (fingers crossed really tightly here) I did go into the settings of Efex and disabled the GPU-thingy (real technical, I know) per the troubleshoot suggestions linked by Eyeball2 (thank you!!) and I've edited a half-dozen or so pics with no problems yet. Maybe I'll cross my toes too......just in case. lol
