Sitting with my new D5 & 70 - 200 2.8. Looking like paparatzi. Caught this man obviously with time to kill and thoughts to tell.

What can I do to improve or just critique welcome as interested in street candids.

It's a lovey shot. Great colour too.

My only 'issue' is I would like to see more of what he was sitting on. It just seems slightly uncomfortable for that reason.

Everything else is bang on.

I agree ther is not much of the bench. I tried to get some blur oreground - bush flower.

The darkbush on the left side really is a drain on the entire frame.

i agree, if you moved to the right a few feet so the bush was out of frame a bit more it would be alot more pleasing, the huuge blurry bush hurts my eyes.

Yes, the blur is distracting, but the subject has been very well presented. You've done well to get only him in your dof.

(I think this is what most men, including me, look like when I wait for my wife on a bench, in a mall, while my wife is shopping)

Yes I agree about the bush now you have mentionned it.
