What do you use most for converting Canon raw files? Is there a best one?
Thanks,
David

I use Lightroom. I dont know if its the best or not, as that is subjective, but I like it.

I acquired an expensive camera so I can hang out in forums, annoy wedding photographers during formals and look down on P&S users... all the while telling people it's the photographer, not the camera.

After 4 years of using DPP and intermittently trying other converters in a search for something better, I went over to LR six years ago. When LR 6 appears I will once again compare it to the current C1 and decide whether to upgrade or switch. It is likely that I will stay with LR. Unfortunately, DPP 4 does not support my camera, so I can't try it and DPP 3 was rejected long ago.

ACR in PS CS5. FAR superior to DPP 3 (which I also "rejected" a couple years back).

I use LR4 which although lacking some of the tools of the latest version still uses the same Process Version as the latest LR version. I started with a 300D which predated DPP and the old RAW processor that Canon provided was worse than useless. So I pretty soon went to RawShooter and then various versions of ACR (after Adobe bought RawShooter) before moving to LR. So I have been using the evolution of the same processing program for nearly ten years.

Lightroom. I don't even think of it as RAW conversion it's so flawless.

Just switched to Capture 1. Still learning the tool but I am very impressed so far. Generally it does a much better job than ARC seems to do.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
