And that site seems questionable for reliable news. Beside, there is no way a company could patent mutli-touch screen functionality itself. Would have to be the hardware, software, etc... Which means whoever does or did get a patent would still have competitors.

Pressure sensitive touch screens aren't new, although admittedly they all seem to cope with only a single point at a time. But how hard can it be to deal with multiple points?
