I don't know the legal definition of bait & switch, nor do I care. For me it's about intent. If I thought B&H intended to trick the OP I'd have a huge issue with it. Based on their clean reputation I don't think that is the case, so I chalk it up to an error on their part.

I'd be happy to look into this but in order to do so I'd need your order number or at the very least the item you purchased.

Unfortunately we're seeing more US distributors imposing unilateral price restrictions on authorized retailers. These restrictions set limits below which we may not go for the bottom price of various items, often cameras and lenses. A retailer who violates a distributor's unilateral price rules does so at the peril of swiftly applied draconian retribution.

Since I know it may be asked, MAP rules set the minimum advertized price; unilateral price rules set the minimum permitted selling price.

Based on the OP's description this is not an MAP issue but a unilateral price issue and most unilateral price contracts I know of specifically prohibit exactly the kind of workaround you propose.

I appreciate this answer, but from a customer's perspective I know that I would appreciate something like this if I were to ask why my order had ben canceled. Just tell me why, and I'm ok. Unfortunately, I know not everybody is like this.

As far as the OP goes, I think it's something of an overreaction to stop patronizing a company over a single incident.

Some retailers will honor pricing error and some won't. I bought my Samsung Tab 2 10.1" from Staples at a price way below what everyone else was selling it for. It wasn't even technically a pricing error. Just a misleading ad. They honored the lower price after I pestered them a little. Unfortunately the Staples near me closed last month.

Agreed... Once you have paid for the item, the deal is basically done. If you were in the store, found an item advertised as $255, took it off the shelf, checked out at the register, and as they were bagging the item, then the manager walked over and said, oops, that price was wrong, you owe us $45 more, what would you do? Why is online sales any different? ;)

Target, Lucky retails they will honor the price of the items, if the items were put in the wrong place/wrong price.

EX: a $500 camera was put in the place of a $250 camera. Customer took it to the check lane, cashier rang it up $500, and guest told cashier price over there was only $250, manager went and checked (surveillance camera if needed), then honored price for guest.

As a retails/store manager you had to pay for your mistake. You cannot blame the customer or have customer paid for your mistake!

The employee who put in the wrong price has to pay for the difference, not the customer.

I would call the manager/customer service/guest relation and talk to him/her if I were you.
