So, basically, I dropped my 24-70. Did very little damage, but, did enough damage that annoyed me enough to the point where I want to get rid of it because it's CURSEDDDDDD.

So I was thinking about getting rid of the 24-70, and switching strictly to primes.

Currently, I have a 50mm f/1.8. I was thinking of purchasing a 85mm f/1.8 and maybe a wider angle lens as well, but I'm not sure what to get for the wider angle lens. I'm trying to do this with $600 from the sold 24-70 f/2.8L.

Suggestions?

I would wait for Sigma 24mm f/1.4 Art. And then buy 50mm f/1.8 and 85mm f/1.8.

Elaborate? I actually made a threat selling most of my current stuff in favor of moving over to a 5D2 and 85mm, save up enough money to buy some more lenses, and work from there.

I would go with the 35/2.0 IS and 85/1.8 or 100/2.0.

Haha I had the same problem, dropped a heavy zoomlens and got tired of the fact that it wasn't so sharp after all (24-70 2.8 MKI isn't sharp at f2.8).
My best solution after many reviews is the light, compact, sharp - out of production - Tokina 17 3.5 AT X Pro and I also work with the light 85 1.8).
They fit both in my compact holsterbag, perfect!

Roger. I was thinking of going that route too!

17 is a little too wide since I'm going full frame. :S
