I've noticed that the latest lenses like the 24-70 mkii focus better in low light that my older primes such as the 35L and 50L.

Does anyone have any practical experience of the new 16-35L vs the old one in low light as I'm thinking of getting the F4 over the 2.8 (1DX user).

Thanks!

I haven't been using AF with my 16-35.....but when paired with the 5DIII or 1DX, the 24-70II and newer Canon leses are able to utilize a closed loop AF system that focuses much more accurately. My assumption would be that the 16-35 f4 utilizes the closed loop AF as well.
