Hi,
My very first critique, shot this photo on Tue....trying to decide if I should print it. It is taken with a Canon XT, w/tripod ( im getting to like tripods) early am light with storm clouds coming in behind it. I did some photoshop altering, a bit of sharpening, contrast and color.
Thanks
sjobraid

Hi this is my first reply to someones pic. Well, I am an absolute beginner but, I wanted to put my two cents in. I think the picture is great. I love the feeling the clouds give. What did jump out at me was the shadow in the lower left corner. I would crop that out, but again this is from someone who is just starting out. Very smart people here can give a technical critique :-)

One other thought.....off to the left....is there a tree there? Is it possible to show the tree in this photo? I was thinking that maybe it would balance it out so everything wasn't so centered?

Again....it is a great picture IMO.....

Job well done on this shot Vicky. Although I think there might be a couple things you should consider for next time. I agree with the others, the tree to the left looks like it's either been cropped out, or not taken into consideration when taking the picture. It would help balance out the photo, and maybe add something extra...color? Also crop out that little shadow in the bottom left corner. It's a destraction.

Emailed you back with further advice...

Print it! But first- clone out the tree and crop the bottom. This will also help the composition by lowering the barn into the bottom third of the frame. Depending on the frame you use, you will have to crop it anyway. Nicely done.
