Hey guys, just wanted to throw another 5D3/5D2 wedding video out there for your viewing pleasure.

Was my first wedding and I was second shooting, so I didn't have any of the audio to work with. If nothing else it's a great example to brides/grooms out there as to why they should have some LIGHT during the ceremony. Haha.

EDIT:
Have to keep it private until the main shooter shows the couple, so I password protected it...

Oh, forgot to mention... he's Indian and she's American, so they did an Indian wedding during the week and then an American wedding that weekend.

Nice first work. Are you using Magic Lantern? Histogram can really make exposure much easier.

Yes, I'm using ML. Learned I need to shoot at something other than 2.8, unlike photography!

Sorry about the temporary downtime. Should be fixed now.

The wedding video is good, but there's just a few small things that I noticed. The second half of the video there's a lot of white and like JonKline mentioned it looked a little over exposed In some of those parts. Also in the second half theres a warm tint and then it suddenly turns into a cooler blue tint. And I know a wedding is capturing the moment but In one of the parts the other camera man is In the shot. Overall it was still good and I enjoyed viewing both sides of the Indian and American cultures blend. Also, what were you using to mount your camera? (Shoulder rig, Monopod?)

The WB jumped around a little too much, enough times in the beginning and middle to make me notice it too much.

It is hard working around other shooters for sure, just have to move and reset quickly. I don't think there were any shots that had another shooter in the frame that were so important it couldn't have been cut out.
The ending was a tad abrupt, a more complete fade out would have been a little nicer to wrap it up.

Would have liked to see more personal pre-ceremony/prep shots. Definitely needed more shots of the reception, that is the "icing and cake" after the "meat and potatoes" (ceremony).

Not bad stuff at all. I see what you meant about capturing some audio from the event. ;)

This was my first time doing color correction, so these are great things to hear and learn from. I learned how to use the scopes (or at least I remembered that they existed) about half way through editing. I didn't really do any color grading (at least on purpose) which I still need to find a guide or some tools to teach me.

As far as the photographer and other camera operators in shots, its a documentary of a wedding, and that's part of the day as well as the guests, so I don't mind them being in the shots where it works. But in this case, only having video from my one camera as a second, I just didn't have a lot of other options :)

I had the camera on a monopod the whole time, except for the American ceremony (which I hated the footage of) it was on a tripod.

Great feedback on WB. Thanks! I was instructed by the first shooter to keep in on Auto WB, but I think in the future I'll adjust using Kelvin so there won't be as much post work to do. Not as easy to adjust as with stills I found out!

I might play around with a longer fade out and see how it looks.

I did have more reception detail shots I could have used, but I wanted to fit it all in to the length of only one song. And I was only able to grab a couple quick "bride getting ready" shots before being assigned the groomsmen getting ready. Didn't want to have a ton of that with not much on the bride, so that's why there isn't much of that.

Going back now and making some of the suggested changes. My white balance was ALL OVER the place after looking at it. Haha. Did some googling on easy ways to adjust white balance in FCPX and found this little gem. Wanted to post it here as I'm sure it could help others. Free plugin and a nice little video tutorial on how to use it.
