The following images are of an ornament we have in the fireplace in the livingroom, the first picture is using auto WB, the second is using a custom from an image i took in the room several hours earlier (before sunset), produces an interesting effect.

both of these were long exposiers, with about F22, just playing around buuut....
How could i improve these images?

Had a play with one of them.
Tried to bring out more detail and alter the lighting.

Used a velvia script I am writing to add more dynamic range and a bit of contrast.

I think the script is for automating functions in photoshop - so it will run on a mac.

Yes it will run on a mac. Either on PSCS or CS2.

Not quite finished it yet, but I will say on the forum when I have.

I like everything about the image except the lighting that appears to come from a point in front of the camera and below. It shines upward on the statue so as to illuminate the underside of the arm, the underside of the legs and the chin.
Is there any good reason for that choice of lighting? The human figure has never looked normal with lighting from that angle, and this is no exception.

Otherwise the composition is more or less dictated by the unusual subject. The exposure and color balance are somewhat flexible in that from the creative standpoint, you should be able to express whatever mood and color cast you feel is appropriate. So, about the only things left to critque are the lighting and the choice of subject from the standpoint of interest.
I find it very interesting and I think it conveys a mood appropriate to the subject.

Very nice!
