A few photos from a recent wedding we shot in downtown Denver. This church has some of the worst can lights ever... but we managed. The reception was one of the most energetic dances we've seen too. More photos from the downtown Denver wedding (external link).

I was not aware you needed permission. Seems like public domain to me, but I guess not. It was also a Saturday, so I don't know if it was staffed. Interesting to know though.

We heard the same speech from the church staff too. Its unfortunate that photographers have ruined it in the past.

i showed up with a party of 14 and took about 5 minutes for security to show up asking for my permit to shoot on federal space.
as a side note same thing can happen at red rocks
both places you are allowed to shoot as an amateur but if you are a pro on a paid shoot they require a permit
i usually play dumb but that only works so many times. too bad both places are amazing to shoot at

Which is such a joke. On that premise, shouldn't John Fielder or any landscape photographer need a permit as well to make their calendar photos? They are shooting professionally. I've been stopped by several park rangers as of late in regard to having a permit for engagement photography on a state park, but for places like Red Rocks and the Federal Building downtown to restrict photography based on the fact that you're earning money is silly. Maybe its been more of an issue for them than I seem to realize though.

Very nicely done, Trent!

We have permits required around here, too, for different locales. I just think it's just asking for a piece of the pie. ;)

Thanks for the feedback. As for the permits, I think you're right.

Great job in capturing that wedding day, they must be very happy with those photos. You weren't kidding about the dance, it looked like wild frat party, loved the split pants shot.

That is a great point, people don't understand that you can't always get that perfect look when you have poor or bad lighting, trust me I know.

The 4th shot inside the church... it's an amazing shot. I'm curious as to how you were able to capture it without using flash inside the church.
Great set. Thanks for sharing.
